Meet the Team

Our SWAG staff implement the P.U.R.P.O.S.E., serving as mentors to guide students in academics, personal development, and goal setting. With diverse experiences, they create a supportive environment where students can discover their purpose and express their individuality. Additionally, 24/7 support is provided to ensure students and families receive assistance beyond program hours, empowering students to succeed in life and education.

Executive Director

Richard Gibson

An Akron native and passionate community advocate, Richard leads SWAG with a vision rooted in mentorship, education, and creative expression.

3+ years of experience with SWAG in various Director and Coordinator roles, with 5+ years' experience in Mental Health Counseling. Proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.

Cashmier Carter

A SWAG Alumni, dedicated to servicing youth through the programming with 2 years' experience in Youth Development and 4 years of experience in healthcare field.

Elder. Kevin Jones

Elder Jones, is a stern passionate professional with the organization with 20+ years experience with youth development and reform on various levels and careers. Jones, also works with Akron Childrens Hospital.

High School Lead

Richard Goggins

Stark State graduate with a passion to serve youth at a high level, has a background in technology and graphic design.

Middle School Lead

Chloe Mchale

Soon graduating Senior from the University of Akron, earning a bachelor's in psychology with a focus in Early Childhood, has 3 years' experience with youth education.
